SMS Consent & Messaging Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

Summary: HiReceptionist sends text messages on behalf of the businesses that use our AI receptionist service. Messages are sent only when a caller verbally requests them during a phone call (for example, asking for a scheduling link to be texted). Every message identifies the business it's sent for. One-to-one transactional messages only — never marketing, never bulk.

Overview

HiReceptionist provides automated 24/7 AI phone receptionist services to businesses and solo professionals. As part of this service, our virtual receptionists can send informational text messages to callers upon their explicit verbal request.

This document describes our SMS consent practices, the strict limits on our messaging capabilities, and your rights regarding receiving or declining text messages sent through our service.

Messages are sent only when a caller verbally requests them during a phone call (for example, asking for a scheduling link to be texted, or requesting directions or contact details).

During the conversation, the caller explicitly asks the AI receptionist to text specific information to their phone number. We do not obtain mobile phone numbers from web scraping, purchased contact lists, lead generation forms, or unsolicited databases. Consent is strictly verbal, caller-initiated, and immediate for that single transaction.

One-to-one transactional messages only

HiReceptionist sends one-to-one transactional messages only — never marketing, never bulk.

We do not operate automated promotional campaigns, mass blasts, newsletters, or advertising via SMS. Text messages are strictly confined to information directly requested by the caller, such as:

  • Direct links to schedule or manage an appointment with the business
  • Business location, address, or map links requested during the call
  • Confirmation details or specific links verbally requested by the caller

Sender identification

Every message identifies the business it's sent for.

When an SMS is delivered, the body of the message prominently displays the name of the business whose phone line was called. Callers will always be clearly informed of who the message is from and why it was sent.

Opt-out and support (STOP & HELP)

You maintain complete control over text messages sent to your number:

  • Opting out: Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Upon receiving your STOP request, we will send a single confirmation message and immediately block any future SMS to your number.
  • Getting help: Reply HELP for help, or email support@hireceptionist.com to receive assistance with our messaging service.

Message frequency and carrier rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply to messages sent to or from our service depending on your mobile carrier and cellular rate plan.

Message frequency: Frequency is strictly transactional and occurs only when you initiate a call and verbally request information. Because messages are sent on-demand, there is no recurring schedule or automatic recurring text series.

Privacy and information sharing

Mobile phone numbers, consent records, and message content collected for SMS delivery are never sold, rented, leased, or shared with third parties for marketing, promotional, or lead-generation purposes.

All messaging data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable telecommunications guidelines (including TCPA and CTIA standards).
